Erap on losing post again: Over my dead body

Former President Joseph Estrada vowed yesterday that the presidency will not be stolen from him again if he gets a fresh mandate on May 10.

Speaking to reporters at the Regency Hotel in this city, the standard-bearer of the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino-United Opposition said the people would have to kill him first before they could remove him from Malacañang a second time.

“Over my dead body,” he said. “I will really fight this time.”

Estrada said he was forced to leave Malacañang in 2001 because he did not want to spill the blood of any Filipino.

“My stepping down in 2001 resulted from concern for the Filipino people and because I do not want bloodshed,” he said.

He twice refused a government offer to leave the country two weeks after he left Malacañang in January 2001, he added.

Estrada said his “God-given charisma” is enough to boost his presidential bid on May 10, and he does not need backup from popular personalities like Willie Revillame and Dolphy.

“I am not so handsome. I admit that Fernando Poe Jr. is more handsome that I am.

“If there are (popular) movie actors, you cannot tell if the people come because of you. This is not a stage show. We are here to tell the people that we have a platform for the people. I don’t have money to pay for them also. It is expensive.”

Estrada said he chose to start his campaign in Urdaneta, Pangasinan because it is the home province of FPJ.

“It’s like in 1998,” he said.

“It never changed. The reception of the people is overwhelming. We will campaign harder. On the ground, the people’s reception is very warm.”

Estrada said like in 1998, he is campaigning for the support of the youth because he lacked the capability to pay for a lot of ads.

“They should be more well-informed,” he said.

Estrada said the poor, not the elite, must be allowed to choose their own leader, because the poor are the ones making the economy move forward.

“Ever since, Erap is para sa mahirap (for the poor) even during the first time that I entered politics,” he said.

“Ninety percent of the roles that I played in movies are the roles of the poor, squatter, driver, NPA (New People’s Army). I know the feeling of the poor. I absorbed the needs of the poor.”

Binay to solve problems in education

Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay, Estrada’s running mate, vowed to solve the problems in education once he is elected vice president.

On the other hand, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile urged Pangasinenses to vote for the most capable and experienced presidential candidate on May 10.

“This election is very important,” he said.

“If you commit mistakes, you will be the one to suffer... President Arroyo has the blood of a Pangasinense, but she had forsaken the people of Pangasinan.

“The PMP ticket will give the right directions to the ordinary people. Erap knows what to do.”

The May 10 elections are most important because of the serious problems facing the country, he added.

Sen. Jinggoy Estrada pledged to give P500,000 for scholarships for the poor in Urdaneta.

Estrada’s ticket was warmly welcomed during their motorcade in Urdaneta, Manaoag, Mangaldan, Calasiao, San Carlos City and Bayambang.

Some of Estrada’s supporters carried placards bearing the words: “Erap ayos ka na sa amin (Erap, you’re okay with us).”

You have to hand it to the guy ... he got guts ... and it is really true that Gloria labandera offered him assylum during those days and she was offended by Erap's vehemence to stay on despite everything that was hanging over his head ... kaya nga lahat na ng dumi na makalkal ng impaktong Gloria na yun kinalkal na at sinalampak sa mukha ni Erap .. she tried to shame him over and over again ... and yet at the country side the people still believes in him

I wouldn't be surprise if despite the surveys and all he might win the election ... and if he did ... Gloria would have a hell to pay for and I dont think anyone can save her except for another coup d' etat that her family would personally finance

  I've been to different cities in North Luzon, lalo na sa mga remoted areas,  papasasok sa mga mabubundok yung lugar na madalang lumabas at pumasok ang mga dahil hindi accessible ang transporation. Erap po sila, w/c according to them ay personally nagpapadala ng tulong at dumadalaw sa kanila. Mahal talaga cya ng mahihirap, kasi may nagawa and it really counts.

Sa akin naman si Erap parin ang pinaka magandang iboto sa pagka presidente, yung mga iba dyan tiyak mala Arroyo ang style kapag sila ang mananalo parang babalik tayo sa panahon ni Gloria. Kung si Erap tiyak na ang mga kagaya natin na maliliit o mahihirap ang sentro o focus ng kanyang mga programa. Alalahanin natin na mas maraming mahihirap sa Pilipinas kaysa sa mga mayayaman at dapat bigyan nanatin ang mga mahihirap ng kahit konting pagkakataon na maranasan at matikman ng konting ginhawa sa buhay at si Erap ang sagot diyan.

Makisingit na nga din ng aking opinyon.

Halos lahat naman ng mga pulitiko magnanakaw.  Kesyo sinasadya man o hindi, merong mga salaping naitatabi na hindi naman sa kanila.  O kaya'y mga regalo o pabuyang tinanggap na hindi alam kung kanino nanggaling.

Ang perang sinasabing ninakaw ni Erap ay "jueteng" money.  Ito ang pinagtalunan nung impeachment trial niya.  Ito ang perang "sinasabing" dineposito sa Jose Velarde account. Hindi buwis.  Hindi pera ng gobyerno.  Ibig sabihin, hindi tinamaan ang masang Pilipino.  Kung may tinamaan man, e yung mga gambling lords lamang.

Kaya para sa aking opinyon, kung pagtatabi-tabihin man yang mga magnanakaw na yan, angat sa akin si Erap dahil hindi naman pera para sa taong bayan ang pinitik niya.  Ika nga "dirty money" yung kinuha niya. 

Ulitin ko, opinyon ko lang po.

I think as long as the senate president is Juan Ponce Enrile, he can say those things... 

Haay, I'm tired of this politicians whose showing public service ONCE they are in front of CAMERA but behind it is their personal interest...
